Rey Ybarra Bio: (Bass / Vocals)

My musical career started in 1978 at the age of 11 playing drums in the 6th grade school band where I eventually moved up to the marching drum line with the Homer Hanna High School Golden Eagle Band in Brownsville, Texas. In 1985, with my sights set on being a drummer, I played drums in several local rock and blues bands and even in a couple of Tejano bands, Sweet Satin and the Texas Shooters. In that same year, at the urging of a friend, I purchased my first bass guitar and taught myself to play. I have played in several bands over the years including, Allied Forces, Wet Monkey, The Mighty JC Stone and Sidewinder. I also played keyboards briefly for the Chris Rivera Band. I stepped away from music for about two years after finding a career in law enforcement however, I have been back in the saddle for some time now still making noise to this day by faking to play the bass guitar. Ha!

Growing up I wanted to be Elvis Presley then Paul McCartney. Then, I heard Steve Perry who is my ultimate idol! In high school, I became a metal head. I rocked out to Ozzy Osbourne, Iron Maiden, Van Halen and Rush. I really wanted to join Motley Crüe. I matured (sort of) and fell in love with Motown and Texas blues great Stevie Ray Vaughn. But, on the other end of the spectrum, I have always wanted to play bass like Geddy Lee and Steve Harris. Also, I am a huge Pink Floyd fanatic. My dream is to play for thousands of fans in large stadium concerts or make millions telling dirty jokes.....oh yeah, and world peace.
